Mighty Good Productions will answer that question when they present ‘Cinderellas Birthday’ at The Star Theatres during the September school holidays. The story begins one year after The Prince and Cinderella married (in the original show last September school holidays). It is now Cinderella’s 21st birthday and a special celebration is planned by the palace staff. When the Ugly Sisters rediscover their misplaced invitation to the Birthday Party the mayhem begins. After checking the date they realise the party is ‘today’ and they don’t have a present, so they go to the local Wizard to magic something up. The Wizard conjures a beautiful Magic Mirror and all seems to be running smoothly until Dennis the Apprentice, the wizard’s apprentice, drops and breaks it before delivering it. He tries to recreate the gift with different ingredients, but unfortunately creates an altogether different dangerous piece. Cinderella is delighted her ‘sisters’ have gone to the trouble to give something special to her, until she opens it and it turns her into a spider! Does she live happily ever after? This remains to be seen. Season commences Tuesday September 25th 2012 for the school Holidays The production reunites Richard Laidlaw and Tony Carpenter (the Ugly sisters) and show Writer/Director Malcolm Harslett (Cyril the Servant) and stars Talia Monahan (Cinderella) and Ben Gatehouse (Prince) with a full supporting cast of colourful characters. The sets and costumes are many and colourful with catchy songs and great comedy for young and old and features many magic stage illusions to delight. And every child gets a piece of Cinderella's Birthday Cake! |
